Dr. Art Mirelez
Dr. J. Art Mirelez, Jr. maintains one of the most successful private dental practices in Fresno. A local boy, born in Fresno, and raised in the nearby small rural town of Caruthers, he attended and graduated from Caruthers High School. After graduation, he attended Fresno State University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with Honors. Dr. Mirelez received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry in 2002. Upon completion of dental school, he was selected for a General Practice Residency Program at Fresno’s University Medical Center, where he treated medically compromised patients under general anesthesia. Dr. Mirelez then went on to work for Healthy Smiles Mobile Dental Foundation, a local non-profit children’s dental organization.
Dr. Christopher Gates
Dr. Gates grew up in Fresno, graduating at the top of the Bullard High School class of 2000. He spent weekends and summers working at his father’s vineyard in Madera where he learned many skills and values which can be applied to dentistry. After high school, Dr. Gates then attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. While studying at Berkeley, he did research in a plant genetics laboratory. He matriculated into dental school in 2006 at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2010 with a DMD degree.
