Sometimes we think we can wait until the dentist office opens in the morning, or on Monday. That might seem pragmatic, especially for those with a high pain threshold. Avulsed teeth can usually be saved if they are treated within half an hour. That’s a narrow window, so you can see the importance of emergency care.
An abscessed tooth may not require immediate care, in the sense of being an immediate threat to dental health. But the pain can be considerable. There is more than one cause of an abscess, including cavities and cracked teeth. The sooner it is treated, the better.
